corporate social responsibility

Having grown up in a humble family and grappled with challenges early in his career, this has shaped Mr Neo Kah Kiat’s strong commitment to give back to society. He believes that Neo Group Limited’s success should be measured not just by its profitability, but also how it contributes to the world. We are proud to be a forerunner in our sustainable Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives which have positively impacted various groups of beneficiaries.

These include: sports associations like Singapore Table Tennis Association (STTA) and Singapore Swimming Association; schools like MINDS and Spectra Secondary School; less fortunate like Singapore Children’s Society, Ren Ci Hospital and SilverACE NTUC Eldercare; and victims of international disasters in the Philippines and Nepal. Commitment to Community

Besides Neo Group’s corporate charitable works, employees are also encouraged to actively and regularly contribute to society. Mr Neo set up a SEED Fund Committee where our staff can donate a portion of their salary every month, regardless of amount. He then matches these monthly contributions dollar for dollar to double the kitty, which benefit Neo Group’s various adopted charities.

Monetary donations aside, Neo Group also provides freshly cooked nutritious meals to the needy, as well as volunteer time and resources for many charity drives. Over the years, Neo Group has supported the following:

  • ‘Begin with Love’ initiative: Neo Group donates every sales dollar it earns from the first day of its operations, 1 January
  • Adopted charities such as Food Connect and Adopt-A-Rental-Block @ South West where 200 bento lunches as well as food rations on a monthly basis to needy families and elderly citizens in Taman Jurong
  • Food-related participations include a partnership with senior activity centre provider SilverACE to gift groceries to elderlies in rented flats, and a buffet line set up at Jurong Spring CC where Neo Group employees were assigned to assist in the distribution of food

Commitment to the Environment

We are dedicated to conserving the environment in a sustainable manner. Neo Group makes a conscious effort to adopt eco-friendly practices and reduce our carbon footprint wherever possible. We use eco-friendly and bio-degradable wares and cutlery made from organic substances that decompose naturally. By using such eco-friendly products that do not have harmful components in their manufacturing, we help to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

We also practise efficient waste management to conserve our Earth’s precious resources. Our strict ‘order-to-cook’ rule means we prepare only what is necessary. Another of our environmental conservation initiatives is our weekly effort to reduce global warming. Every Friday is “No Air-Conditioning Hours” at Neo Group HQ.

Global Outreach

At Neo Group, we believe that the world is a global village and we count ourselves fortunate to be able to bless and help our neighbours. We are proud to bring our Singapore brand of hospitality and generosity across the world. Some recent examples of the Neo Group’s contribution to international needs: raising funds for victims of Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines in 2013 and families affected by the earthquake in Nepal in 2015.

In November 2013, Typhoon Haiyan devastated major parts of South East Asia. In particular, it disrupted the lives of thousands of families in Philippines, with some having to bear the loss of their loved ones. In support of the families affected by Typhoon Haiyan in Talcoban, Philippines, employees of Neo Group raised and donated a total of $19,628.10 on 27 November 2013. In 2015, our SEED Fund raised $20,000 for relief aid to rebuild the homes and lives for the victims of the Nepal earthquake.
